Sunda 27 to Tuesday 29 May – London – ballet and theatre

“Sunday I met Pearl again, went for a walk and she took me to her cousin’s place, where she is staying for tea.

I met her again Monday morning and we pottered about the London streets, she went home for the afternoon to write letters and I went to the Museum, where I became so interested that I went back again yesterday afternoon, after seeing Betty Cameron off to Nottingham.

Monday night I went to the Ballet at the Stoll Theatre and saw beautiful programme with wonderful dancers – Swan Lake, Blue Danube and Petrouchka. Went with New Zealand woman staying here who’s friend was ill and couldn’t use ticket. I went last night to “Kiss me Kate”, a musical comedy at the Coliseum Theatre, and loved every minute of it. Shows are either early, 7.30 or two sessions 6.30 and 9.00. You get out of the 6.30 in daylight, or the 7.30 about 10, still fairly light. Long evenings are wonderful.”
